These camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Camps are geared toward children ages pre-K – 2nd grade. Older students are welcome to attend and Miss Jill will tailor the lessons to the individual child. The fee for each class is $130/week and includes the cost of materials. Each student will celebrate their work with an art show on the last day of class. Students are welcome to combine Miss Jill’s art camp with the full or extended day option of our regular camp. Session I: June 18-22
Session II: June 25-29
Get your preschooler’s summer vacation off to a colorful & glittery start with this morning art camp! Young artists will discover a variety of new ways to put paint to paper (think forks, Legos, fruit, vegetables, sticks, and stones), learn how to make mobiles, masks, puppets, splatter paintings, and more! Each class will begin with a well-known story book and some practice recreating the art from that book. Weather permitting, we will take a nature walk each day to draw what we see in a handmade sketchbook.
Session III: July 9-13
Session IV: August 6-10
Like a carnival with rides, magicians, and clowns, this class has it all: painting, sculpting, mask-making, mobile crafting and more. Each class will be a surprise, from the artist we study, to the materials we use! Be prepared to get a little messy with papier mache, clay, and homemade paint! Weather permitting, each morning we will begin with a nature walk to warm up our imaginations by drawing what we see. These observations will be collected in a handmade sketchbook that will go home at the end of the week.
Art Around the World
Session V: July 23-27
Session VI: August 20-24
Join us for a worldwide exploration of art! Each day we will pick one country to focus on and will create a variety of projects inspired by their culture and artists. Using our imaginations and our artist’s eyes, we will travel the globe, painting Japanese bridges, making Mexican masks, sculpting Native American teepees, and more! For extra inspiration, we will also listen to music and read stories originating from each country. Weather permitting, each morning we will begin with a nature walk to warm up our imaginations by drawing what we see. These observations will be collected in a handmade sketch book that will go home at the end of the week.
